How it works

Poster Studio

Design a real movie poster: art made for your genre, proper typography and credits, and a check that the title still reads as a small thumbnail.

Open Poster Studio

Step by step

  1. 1

    Tell it about the film

Title, genre (mix in a second one if you like), logline, and who or what is on the poster. Tagline ideas are written for you.

  2. 2

    Use your real cast

Show up to 3 characters or props exactly as they look in your films, or add your own picture; a screenshot works.

  3. 3

    Choose the layout

One big face, a silhouette, floating heads, a hero in action, or type only.

  4. 4

    Make the key art

The art is painted to your genre’s palette and imagery.

  5. 5

Set the type and the credits

Title font and colour, tagline, starring, director, studio, rating and release line, set in a proper credit block.

  6. 6

    The thumbnail check

The poster is shrunk to a phone thumbnail: the title must still be at least 9 pixels tall and stand out from the art. Fix it adjusts the poster for you.

The film craft inside

Poster Studio works from poster design rules for 8 genres (palette, display type, imagery and layout), plus the thumbnail test.

What it costs

  • 3 free tagline ideas a day. The allowance resets at midnight UTC.
  • Key art pictures run on your own fal.ai key (Account → API keys).

Questions

Why the thumbnail check?+

Most people first see a poster as a small tile on a phone or a festival site. If the title doesn’t read there, the poster doesn’t work.

Can I put my film’s real characters on it?+

Yes: pick up to 3 characters or props from your films, or add a picture of your own, and the art keeps them as they are.
